Starcraft is a family-owned RV manufacturer that has been around for over a century. They got their start making farm equipment, but they entered the recreational vehicle market way back in 1964. They’ve been building pop up campers ever since, although they have also expanded their lineup to include fifth wheels, travel trailers, and pop up campers. Some of their light weight travel trailers also feature the same type of tent-style pop outs that you typically associate with camping trailers, but they are all rigid-sided, full-height units. Starcrafts line of “folding campers” are all traditional hard-roofed, soft-sided pop up tent trailers.

One of the primary focuses of Starcraft RV’s lineup is the concept of light weight towables. Even their fifth wheels are designed with light duty trucks in mind. Their current pop up camper lineup consists of the smaller, lighter-weight Starflyer, the shortest of which weighs in at about 1,800lbs GVWR and a dry hitch weight of 200lbs. The bigger, well-appointed Comet line tops out at about 25 feet and a GVWR of ~3,300lbs (which includes a cargo carrying capacity of roughly 700lbs).
