Why we recommend the Coachmen RV Chaparral fifth wheel RV: Coachmen’s Chaparral is also featured in one of our older posts, and for good reason. All 13 of its floorplans cover a wide range of features and layouts, with a few that are under $50,000 and are suitable for two people as well! When you consider the lowest length that a particular floorplan provides is 33 feet, it’s clear that Coachmen intended to make these fifth wheels as spacious as they can be!
While we prefer the Chaparral 298RLS and the Chaparral 370FL, you’ll find plenty of other floorplans with unique layouts of their own. What’s common among them, however, is the fact that they provide some top-notch features ranging from electric awning, 13,500 BTU air conditioner, solar panel prep and radial tires to night shades, exterior speakers and electric front jacks. There are 8 different floorplans that the Forest River Cedar Creek provides–each with their own unique layout–but all of them have the same amazing set of features and expansions that we’ve come to expect from Forest River RVs so far. Only one features a bunkhouse, so you have 7 different layouts to choose from if you’re specifically looking for ones that can house two people.
While we recommend the Cedar Creek Silverback 29IK and the Cedar Creek Silverback 35IK, all of them sport important elements of a good RV, such as a ducted air conditioner coupled with LED lighting for the ambiance. Furthermore, if you wish to expand the capabilities of the RV, you can also add upgrades and expansions, including a 13,500 BTU AC and a larger refrigerator. All around, the Forest River Cedar Creek Silverback is one of the best fifth wheels under 50,000 USD!

Why we recommend the Crossroads Cruiser fifth wheel RV: If you are hesitant on the layout of the RV you’re looking for, and desire a myriad of options to be able to find the best for you, we suggest you look no further than the Cruiser fifth wheel by Crossroads RV. It features 14 different floorplans, of which 9 are without a bunkhouse. While we liked the Cruiser CF315RL and the Cruiser CF333RL in particular, there are still quite a few other options (not to mention that they all have the same awesome feature set).
The Crossroads Cruiser does not disappoint in any department–whether it’s safety, durability, convenience or upgradability. A few examples of these features include high gloss laminated sidewalls, detectors for smoke, LP and carbon monoxide, interior LED lighting and options to add a 35,000 BTU furnace or upgrade the existing air conditioner to a 15,000 BTU one. It’s clear that the Cruiser is not only among the best fifth wheels under 50,000 dollars, but also contains some of the best features!

Why we recommend the Palomino Puma fifth wheel RV: Palomino is another name that comes to mind when you think about quality fifth wheels, with the Puma is one of their best selling brands, and exceptionally so. With GVWR ranging from 5322 to 8795 pounds, it’s lightweight and towable while still keeping a footprint ranging from 27 to 38 feet, a great size for two! We particularly liked the Puma 253FBS and the Puma 257RESS floorplans.
As far as features go, the Puma had quite a lot to show off, considering the Evergreen high density foam mattress on the beds and the powder coated frame that it provides. If you’re aiming on keeping this RV for a long time, it has upgrade options that will allow you to expand its capabilities, options that include a larger TV or a tri-fold sofa. All in all, we’re not surprised that the Puma is one of the best selling fifth wheels out there!

Why we recommend Keystone Cougar Fifth Wheel RV: Keystone RV is another one of those manufacturers who have almost always managed to get one of their brands on our top 5 lists, and this fifth wheel is no exception. The Keystone Cougar is an amazing RV, featuring 25 different floorplans and a footprint ranging from 35 to 40 feet, which is very spacious.
While we specifically liked the Cougar 310RLS and the Cougar 311RES. We liked that the Keystone has a fireplace with a remote, a memory foam mattress, and a 15,000 BTU air conditioner. It’s solidly constructed as well, having a 5-sided aluma frame construction and a one-piece super flex roof rounded up with a fully enclosed and heated underbelly. Bottom line, you won’t regret purchasing the Cougar fifth wheel RV!
